John Baillie to Lead Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association
Dr. John Baillie, owner of Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo, will become president-elect of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association at its February meeting in Minneapolis.
The 1979-member statewide group is the professional association for all veterinarians in Minnesota. At the same meeting, Dr. Baillie will be inducted as a Life Member, having joined the organization immediately following his graduation from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine in 1972.
"The MVMA has always been very much in synch with my own commitment to supporting the human-animal bond," said Baillie, "and I am proud to serve in its four-year leadership cycle. I'm particularly interested in what the organization does to encourage students and new graduates in the field, as we've always done in our practice."
Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo participates actively in internship programs, and has launched many young staff members into the profession over the years.
Baillie recently attended the national organization, American Veterinary Medical Association, Leadership Development conference in Chicago, a gathering with the specific goal of developing leaders in the profession.
