Washington County Welcomes Three New Prosecutors
The following is a press release from the Washington County Attorney's Office:
Washington County Attorney Pete Orput announced on Wednesday the appointment and installation of three new prosecutors in the County Attorney’s Office.
The prosecutors, Peter Johnson, Susan Steffen Tice and Siv Yurichuk, filled recent vacancies in the office created by the departure of three assistant county attorneys.
Orput also welcomed Teri Kelly, Pam Hughes and Aly Wojcik to the office as new support staff personnel.
Susan Steffen Tice returns to the office after serving as litigation counsel for 12 years at Jardine, Logan & O’Brien, where she played a major role in defending municipal corporations, a role she will play defending Washington County against lawsuits. She had previously served about 12 years in the civil division of the Washington County Attorney’s Office.
Siv Yurichuk comes to the office from the Bakke Norman law office in New Richmond, Wisconsin, where she did municipal prosecution and civil litigation. Prior to that she served as a Hennepin County Public Defender for seven years. Yurichuk will be serving in the criminal division.
Also sworn in as Assistant County Attorney was Peter S. Johnson, who will serve in the criminal division. Johnson is the first person to “graduate” from the office’s law clerk program and be hired as an assistant county attorney.
Johnson began his duties Jan. 3 and Yurichuk and Tice started March 26.
“We are delighted to bring to this office such a talented and diverse group of individuals to our civil and criminal divisions,” Orput said. “They will provide our staff with a balance of perspectives that any public office needs to grow and respond to the needs of the citizenry.”
