Christine Tubbs Named Executive Director of Valley Outreach in Stillwater
Valley Outreach announced today that it has named Christine Tubbs as its new executive director. Sally Anderson was named deputy director.
Valley Outreach announced today that it has named Christine Tubbs as its new executive director.
Tubbs, of Stillwater, currently serves as executive director of the Partnership Plan, the education foundation for Stillwater Public Schools. Tubbs will begin work at Valley Outreach on May 1.
For the next two months, Tubbs said she will work part-time between the Partnership Plan and Valley Outreach to make sure there is a smooth transition.
"I will make sure everything that is in place now at The Partnership Plan stays in place, so we can continue to support our schools as much as we can," Tubbs said.
The Partnership Plan is currently recruiting to fill the role of exective director.
Sally Anderson, who has served as acting executive director at Valley Outreach since November, has been named deputy director and will continue to play a key role in the day-to-day management of the organization, a news release from Valley Outreach states.
She began serving as the organization’s associate director in July 2010.
“We are very pleased to have Christine Tubbs as the new executive director at Valley Outreach,” Marc Kimball, Chairman of the Valley Outreach Board of Directors said in a statement. “Her success as a non-profit leader and her knowledge of the St. Croix Valley will make her a key asset to as we continue to focus on serving our clients, strengthening our community partnerships, and undertaking some exciting new initiatives in the coming months and years. This is an exciting time for Valley Outreach.”
Prior to her work at the Partnership Plan, Tubbs owned her own small business in Stillwater for 10 years, and worked at the University of Minnesota. She has also held leadership positions in several area community organizations.
Tubbs has a Degree in Speech Communications from Washington State University, and earned a Certificate of Nonprofit Management from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of a great organization like Valley Outreach.” Tubbs said. “It plays such an important role in of the St. Croix Valley community, and I look forward to working with its talented staff, its dedicated volunteers, and its board of directors as we focus on meeting the needs of needy families across our community.”
Anderson has been such a crucial part of the Valley Outreach leadership team for the past two years, and has played an especially important role in the past six months, Kimball said.
“Our organization and our entire community are fortunate that she’ll continue to be a key leader as we move into the future,” he said.
Prior to her work at Valley Outreach, Anderson spent two years serving as the executive director of the Achieve Center in Wausau, Wisconsin, where she led the center’s business operations. She also served as program manager at the Aging and Disability Resource Center in Wausau. She has a Masters Degree in Health Administration.
The Directors of each of Valley Outreach’s core programs remain unchanged.
Cara McLain will continue as Food Shelf Program Director, Dana Dunlap Massopust will continue as Dawn’s Closet Program Manager, and Cynthia Frederick and Kris Huntley will continue as Co-Directors of the Emergency Fund Program.

I believe this is a non-profit organization, I wish the story would have listed her salary.
