Of course we do. Sandwich boards lambasting Obama and his policies have been a regular fixture in the front yard of Ron Christoffersen’s home on Myrtle Hill for a few years now.

Thanks to the First Amendment, I can say almost anything I want. So can Mr. Christoffersen and so can Ms. Zanko.
Over 70,000 people in Washington County voted for President Obama in November. I feel more than confident saying "many" people have rolled their eyes at Mr. Christoffersen's negative and often mean spirited (never mind misinformed) statements about The President of The United States.

I passionately thank your son for his service but I had free speech long before he joined the military. You are wrong about me in your genalizations but I find that typical with Conservatives, so if we want to speak in generalities that's fine, but I've found it to be anything but productive.

Way to go Pat! I would have joined you had I known. Ron Christoffersen's signs are rude & disrespectful, and really the best way to deal with that kind of ignorance is to smile & laugh at it. The majority of people who didn't vote for Obama still would never post such hateful signs on their lawns.

Oh how I love this...it made me smile a big toothy grin. I usually giggle and grin when I walk or drive by this house, an immediate reflex action to ridiculousness of this man's misinformed signs (just my opinion), but also because I am truly happy that he has the freedom to express his opinions just as Mrs. Zanko does. I wish I would have seen this in person, as I would have hugged both Mrs. Zanko and the sign. Today is a great day.

In my opinion, the comments Mr. Christoffersen makes are just idiotic nonsense and often times downright hateful. His comments are not helpful, and I don't see why he thinks it's necessary to rant like that, but I defend and tolerate his right to free speech. I also support Pat's right to express her disapproval and I think she did it in a very (and rather fun) manner.

Ron has a right to his own opinions. He is a decent person. He and I (a confirmed liberal), used to ride share together many years ago. We had some interesting conversations. I usually just laugh at his sandwich boards.
I think it is hysterical that Ms Zanko did this, and I"m sure Ron thought it was funny also.
One thing I know Ron would agree with is that we all have our first amendment right to freedom of speech. Stillwater has always had an assortment of colorful characters, and Ron is one of them.....His political views differ from mine, but that is what makes life interesting, and it does not make him a "bad" person.
And yes, if I had seen her out there, I would have honked and waved also...and if I had seen Ron out there I would have stopped to chat.

I agree. I don't mean to bash him, only point out that his messages are most often negative and one could almost say hateful...especially when he had the dunce hat (or something like that) on our president.
As most here know, I am very grateful for free speech and take advantage of it a lot. As I am typing this, I am realizing that I too am often negative and will take my own comment here to heart. :-)
I am very happy we have free speech and respect others right to the same!
