The Stillwater Area Pblic School District will start two hours late Monday morning due to a winter storm that dumped about a foot of snow on the area over the weekend.
"Just back from driving roads, most are plowed," the Stillwater Area Public Schools Facebook status reads. "Need more time for rural areas, so are going 2 hours late today. Drive safe! Winter Music Concerts have been canceled due to the winter weather."
Heavy snow is expected to continue falling in Stillwater on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. About 12 inches of snow fell in the area.
Due to the heavy snow, all schools will start two hours late today to allow time for secondary roads to be cleared, a message from the District Listserve reads. Buses will arrive to pick up students two hours later than normal, and the school day will end at the normal time.
All employees are required to report to work at their regular time or as close as possible to their regular time. The following programs are impacted by the delayed start:
- 5-Day preschool will start two hours late
- A.M. Preschool special education and Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) are automatically canceled.
- P.M. Preschool special education and ECFE will start at the normal time.
- Morning session St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center classes are automatically canceled.
- Afternoon session St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center classes will start at the normal time.
- All Day session and ABE classes at St. Croix Valley Area Learning Center classes follow the high school's schedule.

I can just barely see the lights on the bridge, but can't see any headlights crossing...but that might just mean that I can't see them through the falling snow. I will keep checking and post it here if I see a vehicle cross.

It was open all day, so my guess is that it is. I haven't heard of any crashes or other reasons to close it.

Haha...you know, I could see the license plates with my super-duper, night-vision binoculars, and they were from Arkansas...should have run down there and made them pay a toll! ;-)
