RiverJamSawmillCitySpirit? Logjam of Lumberjack Days Successors Thins to Three

The Stillwater City Council set Oct. 15 meeting to hear proposals on future summer festivals, KSTP-TV and the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Stillwater's process of choosing a replacement summer festival for the discontinued Lumberjack Days has whittled the options down to three, according to KSTP and the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

On Tuesday, city council members set a special meeting for Oct. 15 to hear presentations on the proposals.

The man who put on Lumberjack Days, Dave Eckberg, will face trial this month on 10 felony theft charges related to unpaid festival bills.

In an email Wednesday, Assistant Washington County Attorney Richard Hodsdon wrote this about the current status of the case against Eckberg: "The omnibus hearing was previously conducted on the defense motion to dismiss the complaint for lack of probable cause. That motion has been briefed and is under advisement by Judge Miles."
