The Stillwater Area Foundation is pleased to announce our 2nd Annual Great Idea Competition. Stillwater is going through transition:  a new bridge, a new community festival…now is the time to envision what we can be.  The community can benefit from your idea. The Great Idea Competition seeks to identify, support and proudly promote the Stillwater Area’s newest and most innovative philanthropic idea which will benefit our community for the long term.

Last year, the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Revitalization Committee won the $5,000 Great Idea Competition sponsored by the Stillwater Area Foundation.  The Medallion Project is a collaborative project with the Washington County Historical Society, City of Stillwater, area organizations and supporting businesses, property owners and residents.   Read more about the Medallion Project at www.greaterstillwaterchamber.com.

The Great Idea Competition encourages and hopes to receive a wide range of ideas through this contest.  The winning idea will receive a $5,000 grant.

The Great Idea Competition is a fun and engaging way for the Stillwater Area to learn about critical issues affecting our community, develop creative new solutions for addressing those issues and be inspired to act.  All those interested are encouraged to submit their idea no later than April 15, 2014 by going to the Stillwater Area Foundation website at www.stillwaterareafoundation.org.

The top entrants will be asked to present at a May board meeting and the winner will be announced on May 21st. The winning idea will receive a $5,000 grant, the Great Idea Cup and the potential to receive more designated funds.
