"Early in the history of this great Valley there were many corporate giants that grew here, and one of the major industries of the 19th century was production of the farm implement," Peterson wrote. "From horse and plow to the great steam engines of the past, much of the farm industry looked to Stillwater to provide its workhorse engine or the thresher to bring in crops, and the local provider was called the Northwest Thresher Company."
