'Wow! Some people need to give it a rest!' was typical of comments at the Stillwater Patch Facebook page.

News that the City of Stillwater is asking Stillwater Log Jam organizers to change the name of the new summer festival because of a "vulgar" interpretation set off a firestorm of reaction on the Stillwater Patch Facebook page Thursday:

"Seriously? Grow up"
"You have got to be kidding me."
"Good Lord! Whose mind would go there! Does this mean the log jam mural needs to be removed from corner of Main & Myrtle?!?"
"Is this for real? Come on people."
"That's just stupid."
"Ridiculous. Period."
"Wow! Some people need to give it a rest!"
"Omg seriously? These people are trying hard to recreate a family, and community focused event .. Give them a break!! You guys are going a great job! Thank you!"

One commenter saw a silver lining to Stillwater Mayor Ken Harycki's concern, as he told the St. Paul Pioneer Press, that "We don't want to be the laughingstock of the nation":

"That would be awesome if people nationwide were talking about Stillwater!!"

People are offended by everything these days. This is ridiculous, plain and simple.

Really - log jam? What has the mayor been up to? In the men's room at the airport? What about the work "know" like "I know her in the Biblical sense?" These over sensitive knuckleheads need to give the rest of us a break. We are not all Puritanical freaks.

How about "Stillwater Bland and Boring Festival" where nothing happens so no one has a chance to ever get offended by anything? This is socio-political correctness gone mad.

No words can describe the idiocy of this line of thinking. Maybe people need to get back to good hard work so that their minds have little time to think up such things.

Wait a minute - doesn't "boring" have a sexual connotation? oh well...
