Trinity Lutheran Church, Unseen Angels, United Way and Valley Outreach are teaming up to offer a down-home Thanksgiving dinner for 200 people on Thursday, Nov. 22

"Thanksgiving is more than turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie," Tom Thiets, the Missions Director of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater said. "It's also the feeling of family, community and sharing. It's conversation and laughing. That's all a part of what makes Thanksgiving special."

That's why a coalition of local groups are offering up a sit-down, family-style dinner at Trinity Lutheran Church from noon to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

"Our intent is to create a warm, personal atmosphere for those that desire or need a place to gather," Thiets said.

Everyone is welcome. People just need to call to reserve a spot—and then make sure they show up. Thiets stresses the need for people to call to reserve a spot, since space is limited to 200 people.

Kowalski's Market is donating hundreds of pounds of turkey to help make the program possible. Other community members are providing trimmings and dessert.

More information can be found on the Trinity’s website. Those interested in participating in the dinner at Trinity should call 651-439-7400 by Monday, Nov. 19 to reserve a seat.
