Open House to Discuss Stillwater Lift Bridge Closure is Feb. 22

The "Stabilization Project" on the Stillwater Lift Bridge is tentatively set to start Sept. 10, 2012 and be completed by the end of December 2012, weather permitting.

Stillwater area residents, business owners, boaters and motorists are invited to an open house presenting details about the Historic Stillwater Lift Bridge repair project scheduled to begin this fall.

The "Stabilization Project" will repair steel connections, electrical systems, concrete surfaces and paint a portion of the bridge, according to MnDOT. The project is tentatively set to begin Sept. 10, 2012 and be completed by the end of December 2012, weather permitting.

The open house will be held at on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

Those planning to go will see a detailed version of the steel and concrete repairs, view the Lift Bridge management plan, learn about vehicular detours, boat navigation impacts and have their questions answered from project leaders.
