Where to Drop Off Your Christmas Tree in the Stillwater Area
Washington County recently announced local places where people can get rid of their tree.
Looking to get rid of your Christmas tree?
Washington County points residents to River City Services, 201 Second Ave. S., in Bayport. It's open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. It costs $5 per tree.
Tree stands, plastic bags, tinsel, wire, lights, and all other decorations must be removed before drop-off, according to the release from the county. Private waste haulers, cities, or townships may also accept Christmas trees. Residents should contact them directly for more information.

It’s open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 5 and Jan. 12.
The cost is $6 per tree and $5 per wreath.
Cottage Grove
Rumpca Companies, Inc., 9600 Glendenning Road, open to all residents. Open Jan. 5 and 6, and Jan. 12 and 13. Hours: Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: $2 per tree. The $2 fee will be waived if a canned good is brought in for donation to the local food shelf. For more information, call Rumpca Companies at 651-459-1556.
Forest Lake
Forest Lake Public Works, 843 S.W. Fourth St., open to Forest Lake residents only. Open Dec. 26 through Jan. 27. Hours: any. Cost: No charge. For more information, call Forest Lake Public Works at 651-464-3220.
Oakdale
Oakdale Public Works, 1900 Hadley Ave. N., open to Oakdale residents only. Dates: Dec. 26 through Jan. 31. Hours: Monday–Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost: $3 per tree. For more information, call Oakdale Public Works at 651-730-2740.
