Some of the many highlights to watch for on this year’s tour include:

  • The transformation and creation of a “green” room in one backyard
  • A water garden filled with fish, and built with the help of friends
  • A garden setting that’s handicap accessible and easy for those less steady on their feet
  • All-season perennials that run the length of a driveway to welcome guests
  • Multiple garden rooms with specific ever-blooming color palettes
  • A rain garden to filter out pollutants and collect storm water runoff
  • A fairy cottage, a rainbow-colored labyrinth and a prize-winning vegetable garden

Once again this summer, Master Gardeners in Washington County will assist visitors of the St. Croix Garden Tour by answering horticulture questions at the gardens.

Master Gardeners will also be conducting diagnostic clinics at the FamilyMeans office in Stillwater from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the days of the tour.

The public is invited to bring plant and insect samples and photos for diagnosis by Master Gardeners. Volunteers will identify the plants or insects, diagnose common problems and make recommendations.
