BierCycle Adventures Roll into Downtown Stillwater

BierCycle Adventures brings an unique flavor of a pub on pedals to downtown Stillwater.

Clarification: BierCycle Adventures is not associated with PedalPub LLC.

A new and unusual activity has rolled into downtown Stillwater—and it’s called BierCycle Adventures.

You may have seen the multi-person pedal bike—that can accommodate up to 10 pedalers and three freeloaders (if you will) on a rear bench seat—cruising the streets of downtown Stillwater.

The owner of the bike is Pat Wolf, the great granddaughter of Joseph Wolf, the founder of the Joseph Wolf Brewery in downtown Stillwater. She grew up here and has been a part of the community her entire life.

A BierCycle Like No Other

Following the legacy of her great grandfather's entrepreneurial spirit, Wolf differentiates her 10-seat pedal bike from other bike operators in the Twin Cities in several ways.

Unlike other operators, the BierCycle will be exclusively located in downtown Stillwater, which will allow patrons to enjoy it on a regular basis. The bike also has a small electric motor that assist pedalers and a water-misting feature that cools riders on those hot summer days.

Wolf is also using the bike to provide a 35-minute public tour of downtown Stillwater, including tidbits of information that Wolf says might even stump some long-time residents.

A morning cardio workout is also in the works for those who are looking for a way to share their workout experience.

“Our oldest rider on a public tour has been a 90-year-old resident who pedaled the entire trip with us,” Wolf said. “I think she might be ready for our cardio class!”

The bike is available to rent for special events and private parties, company events and “pub crawls.”

Wolf and her staff are even looking to create tours that may include a progressive dinner, appetizers or desserts at favorite dining spots in downtown Stillwater.

Rebirth of Wolf Beer

And of course, you can drink beer—soon to be Wolf Beer—while pedaling.

Wolf and her sister Kathy Wolf Swanson, have re-started the Joseph Wolf Brewing Company, and in the next few months, they plan to release Wolf Beer once again in the valley.

“The ideas for using the bike are endless and we are looking to collaborate with other Stillwater businesses to create unique experiences for residents and visitors while enjoying our wonderful historic downtown,” Wolf said.

During public tour operating hours, the bike is located on the east side of Water Street next to the new Pedestrian Walkway. The bike is also available to pick up patrons at pubs and restaurants in downtown for private tours.
