Lift Bridge Brewing Co. is celebrating the release of their latest barrel of aged beer, Silhouette, with an outdoor “ice taproom,” music, food, bonfires, and of course, Lift Bridge brews.

Here’s how the Lift Bridge guys describe the beer:

Silhouette is as dark as a moonless night. Brewed in the style of a Russian Imperial Stout, aromas of coffee, molasses, chocolate, and prune meld with an intense dark roasted character. This complex beer is rich, full bodied and will warm the senses.

Lift Bridge is releasing two versions of the brew—barreled and un-barreled.

The barreled version was brewed in 2011 and has been aged in 12-year old oak bourbon barrels, blended by brewmaster Matt Hall. The barreled version will be available (400 individually-numbered, 750ml bottles) from the brewery.

The un-barreled version will be released the following week to retail locations.

You can preorder the beer by visiting the Lift Bridge Brewery (1900 Tower Drive) or visiting their website. Beers cost $15 per 750ml bottle, limit three per person.

In addition to the outdoor taproom and fire pits, there will be a cool hat contest and live music by Thrift Store Sonata. Local food trucks, NateDogs and GastroTruck, will be serving food.
