Street Treats Ice Cream Truck is For Sale

The Thole family has owned and operated the St. Croix Valley's only ice cream truck since 2006.

The St. Croix Valley’s only ice cream truck is for sale.

“It’s true,” Owner Mike Thole wrote on the Street Treats website. “We are opening ourselves up to offers to buy the coolest small business in the whole St. Croix Valley.”

Thole said he is selling the truck so he can dedicate more time to video projects in the summer months with his small business, Storyteller Videography.

“We’ve weighed our options and decided that the best would be to sell the whole business, the route, the reputation, the website, everything at a price which allows us to move forward with our other business,” Thole said.

Thole’s one requirement is that the truck stays in the valley.

Thole is also weighing the option of hiring a driver next summer and continue to run the business behind the scenes.

“This is a decision that is not easy,” Thole said, “but it is necessary for our family.”

If you’ve been interested in owning this truck, Thole says people can message him privately through Facebook and make a serious bid.

“We will only discuss details with bidders who: Make a large enough offer that makes it feasible; Will keep the truck in the valley and continue to offer the same great level of service our families have come to expect; and love doing this and want to pour their heart into it, Thole said.

“It takes great commitment to maintain our schedule,” he added. “If we find the right bidder, we’ll open our books and show what you can expect to earn in a typical mid-western summer.”
