“When I found it, I said ‘I found it! I found it,’ while
jumping like this,” the Marine on St. Croix resident said as she bounced on her feet.

Organizers said finding the clue on the second day is unusual, but this family is no novice to medallion hunting. Tate found the
token in 2007 across from the harbor and in the early 1980s in the courthouse lawn.

“It’s something he does with the kids,” Kortney’s mom, Angela
Bohman said. “It started with Zach and now Kortney helps, too.”

Kortney, her older brother Zach and their uncle have made a tradition of listening to the reading of the first clue, going out to dinner and ice cream and thinking about the clue and places it could be.

“I want to keep my tricks a secret,” the shy, brown-eyed girl
said.

Chris Bohman, Kortney’s dad said the young girl has stepped
it up and brought some ideas to the group in the annual efforts.

With the $1,000 prize Kortney plans on buying a pair of Nike
tennis shoes, clothes and jewelry.
