The History of Banking in the U.S. and the Federal Reserve
Our guest speaker, Michael Swisher, will discuss the history of banking in the United States and the federal reserve.
Interest in banking and the federal reserve has exploded in the past few years with the bank bailouts and questionable decisions made by the federal reserve. Mr. Swisher is a local financial wizard with a unique and wide-ranging background that enables him to offer a clear and detailed introduction to this topic.
Michael is President and CEO of Bayport Printing House, Inc. He serves as a director of First State Bank and Trust, Valley Agencies, Inc., and Universal Financial Services, Inc. He is an alumnus of Vanderbilt University, He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, which is a charitable organization dedicated to the study of antiquities and history of Scotland. He is a member of the Philadelphia Society, a membership organization dedicated to the goal of deepening the intellectual foundations of a free and ordered society. He is a Past President of the Minnesota Society Sons of the American Revolution and is also currently Minnesota State Commander of the Military Order of the World Wars.
