ArtReach to feature works of “EROS One73” and J.R. Sebasttian

Like an early Summer storm, graffiti artist “EROS One73″ and sculptor J.R. Sebasttian will whirl into ArtReach St. Croix’s galleries and things may never be the same! Join us to see the transformation and the wild work. J.R. Sebasttian’s sculptural toys and spirit animal paintings are nothing less than magical. And, let’s just say, “EROS One73″ will leave his mark on ArtReach.

“I create the creatures of our environment—toys if you like—because I must,” begins the artist statement of J.R. Sebasttian. While not his primary artistic discipline, Sebasttian’s toys are heavily influenced by five “elders” who have challenged him to embrace his artist vision and use his talents to challenge others to see the natural world in a different way and how their actions—both positive and negative—impact it.

For “EROS One73” graffiti art is all about style. His pieces primarily focus on stylized letters and using that style to tell more of a story than the words can on their own. Over 20 years, the iterations of his signature “EROS One73” have become his self-portrait, pseudonym and alter-ego—“It has become me and I have become it.” This exhibition allows EROS to share his passion for graffiti art as a medium of beauty, strength, freedom and positive energy.
