This Summer, Have Fun AND Do Good

Summer is all about getting outside, spending time with friends and family, and just having a good time. You’re likely heading out to at least a few community events over these warm months. But did you know that there are a number of fun summer events that also support great causes? While you’re out having fun in the sun, why not do a little good as well? Here’s a list of great events in July and August that benefit charities right here in Stillwater.

FORE the Red Benefit Golf Tournament
Benefiting the St. Croix Valley Red Cross
Monday, July 11th – 10:00am-6:00pm
Fore! Don’t worry about a bad drive – you’re helping a great cause! Join our local Red Cross at Hudson Golf Club for a day of awards, food, drinks and – of course – lots of golf. Cost is $100 per individual and $400 per foursome. It’s coming up quickly, so sign up today!

19th Annual St. Croix Garden Tour
Benefiting Family Means
Saturday and Sunday, July 16th-17th – 10:00am-4:00pm
This is a unique opportunity to tour private, residential gardens in Stillwater, Lake Elmo and Oakdale. Ogle over flowery utopias while soaking up inspiration for your own garden. Tickets are $15 for adults; kids under 12 are free.

HSI Golf Classic
Benefiting HSI (Human Services, Inc.)
Monday, July 25th – 11:30am-7:30pm
Attention golfers! Participate in this fun charity golf tournament at Stillwater Country Club. The registration fee of $175 per person includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes.

Parrot Head Party and Cruise
Benefiting Valley Outreach
Thursday, July 28th – 6:30-9:30pm
Calling all Jimmy Buffet fans! Show your Parrot Head pride and set sail with this inaugural charity cruise for Valley Outreach. The cruise departs from Hudson on The Grand Duchess and features a Caribbean style dinner, raffle prizes, live music and an all-around good time.

Christmas in July Pancake Breakfast
Benefiting Community Thread’s Holiday Bureau program
Saturday, July 30th – 8:00-11:00am
Come get a short stack for a tall cause! This isn’t your run-of-the-mill summer pancake breakfast – it features a Christmas tree, toy donations and Santa. Your suggested donation of a new, unwrapped gift or $6 ($4 for children and seniors) buys an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes and more. The breakfast takes place at Community Thread – 2300 Orleans Street W in Stillwater.

Caribbean on the St. Croix – 15th Annual River Cruise Party
Benefiting Hope House
Monday, August 8th – 7:00-10:00pm
Cruise along the St. Croix and support Hope House! You’ll enjoy an evening of great food, raffle and drawing prizes, dancing, and music from Hemlock Nine. Tickets are $30 per person.

Anastasi & Associates 11th Annual Charity Golf Event
Benefiting Family Means
Thursday, August 25th – 11:00am-7:00pm
Pull together a foursome and get ready for a fantastic day of golf at Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul. Register as a foursome for $500 or as an individual for $150; or skip the golf and just have dinner for $35. Golf prices include 18 holes, cart, lunch and dinner. Registration is open until August 13th and all proceeds go to FamilyMeans in Stillwater.
