The Amazing Gateway Trail

It was one of those amazing days last week..sunny, 80 degrees during the day and 60 degrees at night.  It's my favorite kind of weather!  I sneaked a break in the middle of the day and decided to take a quick roller blade from Pine Point Park;  I had no distance in mind but would have liked to make it to the Jamica crossing.  Alas, life with teenagers called, literally.  I got an emergency call on my cell phone that someone needed a ride to work.  "Sibling #1" was not yet home with the shared car in time for "Sibling #2" to go to work.  I only made it as far as the Manning bridge and had to turn around, but any time spent on the Gateway Trail is time well spent.

Here is a great video from the Gateway Trail website:  http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_trails/gateway/virtual.html
If you have a county pass, you can start at Pine Point Park.  If you don't have a pass, there are free places to connect to the trail, including Jamica and Myrtle and Highway 96.  Pay attention to the signs that warn of car break ins if you're not in the busy Pine Point Park entrance.

Here is a link to the distance calculator:

Take an adventure on the trail today!  ENJOY!!
