Obituary: Ben Frantzen, 32, Avid Outdoorsmen, Stillwater High School Grad

A memorial service will be held in the Sanctuary at 11 a.m., with an inurnment at the columbarium immediately following the service on Thursday, July 25, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi.

Ben Frantzen, a, beloved father, son, grandson, brother, and friend to many died unexpectedly on July 17, 2013.

He was 32.

Frantzen grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1999. He married and moved to Rigby, Idaho, where he became an avid outdoorsman and frequently indulged his passions of hiking and riding horseback in the mountains of Idaho and Wyoming with his family and friends.

Frantzen “will be remembered by everyone as a wonderful father with a zest for life,” the obituary reads. “He had a big heart and was loved by all.”

Frantzen is survived by children, Lily and Anna Frantzen; wife, Deborah Frantzen (Weaver); parents, Scott Frantzen (Debra Pogue) and Nora Scribner (Joe Zywiec); grandparents, Lyle and Lorraine Scribner; brothers, Matt (Amy) and Ryan (Leah) Frantzen; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
