100 mph Police Pursuit from WI Ends with Stop Sticks on Stillwater Lift Bridge

The suspect from New Richmond, WI crashed into a pole on Broadway Street early Saturday, according to Stillwater police.

A police pursuit from Wisconsin with speeds of more than 100 miles per hour ended in Stillwater early Saturday morning after stop sticks deployed on the Stillwater Lift Bridge disabled the suspect vehicle, according to a Stillwater Police Department report.

The vehicle's driver managed to turn north on Hwy. 95 before crashing into a pole in the 1900 block of Broadway Street N. at about 12:30 a.m.

Police took a male New Richmond resident into custody on suspicion of fleeing in a motor vehicle, a felony.  

A New Richmond police officer started the pursuit.
