Marine on St. Croix Man Dies Trying to Get Dog off I-35 in Iowa
Lawrence Anderson, 74, was struck by another vehicle after his own vehicle was stranded and the dog got away, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
A 74-year-old Marine on St. Croix man died on Christmas night after he chased his dog onto I-35 in Iowa and was struck by another vehicle, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Lawrence Anderson's own vehicle had apparently became stranded at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when the dog got away and he tried to retrieve it from the interstate, a state patrol officer reported.
A 34-year-old from Osceola, IA driving a Suburban in the left southbound lane near the 52 mile marker said he didn't see Anderson and was unable to avoid hitting him.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene near the exit for St. Charles, KJAN reported.
