Just prior to the Afton woman leaving the bar, someone she is “familiar with” told her several times to stay at Smalley’s—essentially warning that if she left, she may be harmed.

As it turns out, that woman was right.

According to police, the woman left the bar with two friends shortly there after.

In the alley behind Smalley’s, the woman was approached by a group of women—one of which reportedly came at her “at a rapid pace” and punched her in the eye. The Afton woman fell to the ground, when several other women reportedly jumped in and began hitting and kicking her.

As the Afton woman’s two friends attempted to jump in to break up the fight, the group of women scratched her boyfriend and pulled the Forest Lake woman’s hair, the report states. The Afton woman had a black eye, bruises on her knee and thigh, and a sprained ankle as a result of the assault.

The suspects are unknown to police at this time. The assault remains under investigation.
