A 44-year-old Stillwater woman was arrested for suspicion of third-degree DWI last week after she was called to pick up her teenage son who was part of a trio reportedly causing a scene at Walmart.
Oak Park Heights police were called to Walmart at about 8 a.m. Nov. 25 on a report of three “unruly” teens who were riding bikes around the store, appeared to be intoxicated and refused to leave.
While talking with the boys, police noticed signs of intoxication and called the boys’ parents to come pick them up.
Shortly thereafter, the mother of a Stillwater teen reportedly showed up in a minivan—and when she got out of her vehicle officers noted she was “extremely unsteady on her feet,” had bloodshot eyes and was slurring her speech.
The woman was transported to jail where she took a preliminary breath test at 10:29 a.m. that resulted in a .26 reading, according to the police report.
The woman was charged with third-degree DWI and held in jail on an outstanding warrant for a noise violation out of Washington County.
The three teens—one 19 year old and two 16 year olds—were each cited with underage consumption of alcohol.
