Police: Stillwater Woman Transported to Hospital after Being Struck by Vehicle

Police say the woman was in the crosswalk when she was struck by a Minneapolis man who was driving a vehicle with a frost-obstructed windshield. The man told police he "never saw" her.

A Stillwater woman was transported to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in the intersection of Excelsior Boulevard and Grand Way in St. Louis Park.

Jennifer Lanasa was in the crosswalk when she was struck by a Minneapolis man who was driving Jeep with a frost-obstructed windshield, the police report states. The man told police he "never saw" her.

The severity of Lanasa's injuries were not immediately known.

The incident occurred at about 6:37 a.m., St. Louis Park Police spokesperson Jamie Zwilling said.

Police say the woman was found 30 feet away from the crosswalk, with one shoe on and the other found another 30 feet away in front of the stopped vehicle.

Lanasa was reportedly conscious and responsive when officers arrived, but was transported to Methodist Hospital for an exam. Zwilling described her injuries as "minor," but said she had struck her head on either the pavement or the car that struck her.

Charges have been submitted to the city attorney for review. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
