A 35-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct this weekend after residents on Elm Street reported he was acting suspiciously—walking through yards, entering garages and even asking one resident if he had any pornography.
The man was jailed and cited for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
According to police reports:
A resident of the 600 block of Elm Street called police to report a “suspicious,” and seemingly intoxicated man who walked up to his door and then walked away. Moments later, a resident of the 900 block of Williams Street called police reporting that a man—matching the description of the call on Elm Street—had entered a detached garage.
While searching the area, police located a man who was being confronted by two residents of the 800 block of Elm Street.
The officer noted that the 35-year-old Stillwater resident smelled of alcohol—and appeared to be “moderately drunk”—but was coherent, aware of his surroundings and not slurring his speech.
The man told police he was looking for a friend’s house.
A resident of the 600 block of Elm Street told police that the man startled his daughter when he wandered into their yard; and when she asked what he wanted, the man reportedly said “nothing” and walked away.
The resident then reportedly saw the man walk two doors down, enter a garage and allegedly start making his way into a home, the report states. Two men who were on the side of the home at the time asked what he was doing when he said he was “looking for a friend’s house.”
The two men then reportedly told the man to leave, to which he responded by asking if they had any “straight porn” or “chicks over,” the report states. The men again told him to leave, noting that he was looking inside of their vehicles as he walked away.
The man was transported to jail, and cited for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
