Stillwater Man Cited after 'Huffing,' Shoplifting Household Cleaning Supplies at Target

Stillwater Police were called to Target on a report of a "known shoplifter" who entered the Stillwater location just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 27, huffed a can of Endust 10 and then attempted to steal it.

A 22-year-old Stillwater man was arrested last weekend after he allegedly was caught huffing—and then shoplifting—household cleaning products at Target.

Stillwater Police were called to Target on a report of a “known shoplifter” who entered the Stillwater location just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 27, and allegedly huffed a can of Endust 10 and then concealed it on his person.

According to police, the man paid for several items, but shoplifted two cans of Endust 10. Loss Prevention officers at Target told police the man has been witnessed shoplifting 21 times in the store, but had not been detained, arrested or cited as a result of those incidents.

Loss prevention officers reportedly provided police with case files detailing the list of shoplifting incidents for a total loss of $131.80.

The man was cited for shoplifting and driving after cancellation. Stillwater police forwarded Target Loss Prevention’s case files to the city attorney for consideration of criminal charges.
