Stillwater Police Blotter: A Drunken Drive into the Sand Trap and Heroin at the Dollar Store

The Stillwater police blotter from Aug. 1 to 5 also includes reports of theft, DWI and speeding.

Ryan Robert Munson, 32, of Oak Park Heights was charged with second-degree DWI last week after he allegedly drove his vehicle off the road and into a sand bunker at Dellwood Hills Golf Club. According to the complaint, Munson was driving the truck eastbound on Dellwood Road when he hit a chain barricade across a driveway of a road that led to the golf course. Munson then allegedly drove onto the golf course fairway, where he made a U-turn and got stuck in a bunker on the golf course.

A 28-year-old Oak Park Heights man faces first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges after he inappropriately touched an 11-year-old girl while she was sleeping, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Washington County Attorney’s Office. Oak Park Heights police responded to a report of criminal sexual conduct July 17 after the girl’s mother told officers that Jeffrey Charles Becker touched her daughter while the young girl was asleep.

Aug. 3:

Police responded to a report that a clerk at the Dollar Tree found a baggie of a substance that tested as black tar heroin on the floor.

A 60-year-old New Scandia Township man was arrested on third-degree DWI charges after police responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver leaving Walmart in Oak Park Heights. A preliminary breath test resulted in a reading of .28, according to police. The man was also cited for having an open bottle of beer in his vehicle.

Police are investigating a report that a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck was stolen from the 100 block of Cherry Street. The vehicle was later recovered in Woodbury. Two teens—a 15-year-old Stillwater boy and a 15-year-old Woodbury boy—are suspects in the case.

Aug. 4:

Police responded to a report of theft of $5 in change from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Willard Street.

Aug. 5:

A 41-year-old Stillwater woman was arrested on fourth-degree DWI charges after she was stopped near Mulberry and Second streets. According to police, a preliminary breath test resulted in a .10 reading.

A 48-year-old Stillwater Township man was cited for speeding after he was clocked travelling 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Olive Street West. 

The preceding items were taken from theStillwater and Oak Park Heights police departments. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents are listed in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred. When names are used, it indicates that felony charges have been filed in Washington County District Court.
