Stillwater Police Blotter: Smuggling Cocaine into Prison and Drunk Men Wander into Unlocked Homes

Police also responded to reports of theft, burglary and boys shooting air-soft guns at golfers.

Stillwater police are reminding residents to lock their doors after officers responded to two separate incidents of drunken men who walked into unsecured homes this week.

The first incident was reported at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday, June 19 when police were called to a report of a stranger walking around inside of a home in the 900 block of 6th Avenue. Then on Monday, June 20 at about 4 a.m. police were called to a townhome in the 1100 block of Curve Crest Boulevard for a report that a woman's neighbor, a 47-year-old Stillwater man, entered her home “obviously intoxicated” and wanted to buy some booze.

Two women face felony charges after they allegedly worked together to smuggle narcotics into Stillwater Prison.

Andrea Natasha Nicole Cox, 35, of St. Paul and Chesica Dawn Brown, 30, of St. Louis Park were each charged this week by the Washington County Attorney’s Office with one count of aiding and abetting to bring contraband into a state correctional facility and third-degree possession of cocaine. The incident was investigated by the Bayport Police Department.

First –degree burglary was reported in the 800 block of Everett Drive after someone entered a garage through an unlocked service door and stole a purse from a vehicle.

June 16

A car vs. bike crash was reported at the controlled intersection of Olive and Grove streets. It was reported that a 14-year-old Stillwater boy failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the vehicle. The boy was transported to Lakeview Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

June 19

Police and firefighters extinguished a car fire near Lucky’s Station, 103 Main St. N. There were no injuries reported.

A 58-year-old Stillwater man was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree DWI after he allegedly struck a parked vehicle while driving his work truck in the 1600 block of Orleans Street South. According to police, the result of the man’s preliminary breath test was .19.

Attempted burglary of an Andiamo Boat was reported after someone attempted to pry a portside door open and left a footprint on a window of the boat. The same boat was burglarized June 13, after someone entered a boat through a broken window and stole five bottles of alcohol.

June 20

A Sea-doo jet ski and a trailer (valued at $7,000) were reported stolen from the driveway of a home in the 2000 block of Oak Glen Crescent.

A 14-foot enclosed trailer valued at $7,000 was reported stolen from Thomas Grace Construction, 1912 Greeley St. S.

June 21

Felony theft was reported in the 200 block of Water Street after someone broke into a vehicle and stole a GPS unit, methadone and door sample materials.

Theft was reported in the 900 block of Northland Avenue after someone stole the spare tire (valued at $460) off of the back of a Jeep Liberty.

June 22

Police responded to a report two Stillwater boys, ages 10 and 11, firing air soft guns at people on the fourth hole of Oak Glen Country Club. The case was referred to the Juvenile Youth Services Bureau.

Fraud was reported in the 1400 block of Lydia Circle after a resident reported receiving a check that she was asked to cash and send away. The check was never cashed.

Charges of voter fraud are being considered against a 27-year-old Missouri man after he falsified the address on his voter registration. The fraud allegedly occurred at a voting booth on Fourth Street.

The preceding items were taken from theStillwater Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents are listed in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred. When names are used, it indicates that felony charges have been filed in Washington County District Court.
