Stillwater Police Blotter: Threats, Drugs and Drunken Confusion

Police also responded to reports of DWI, theft and a dog chasing its owner's vehicle down the street.

A 19-year-old Stillwater man was charged with stalking a social worker and making terrorostic threats with a machete this week stemming from an incident three months ago in the 6400 block of Panama Avenue North. On Feb. 3, Stillwater police responded to a report that Shane Robert Lewandowski threatened to kill a social worker who requested to visit his home because the conditions of his apartment were “unacceptable,” according to a criminal complaint.

Melissa Anne Funke, 33, and Jackie Delvon Gordon, Jr., 38, were each charged last week with first-degree possession of cocaine and fifth-degree possession of marijuana by the Washington County Attorney’s Office. According to the criminal complaint, drug task force agents seized 144.2 grams of cocaine and 636.4 grams of marijuana after executing a search warrant May 4 at a home in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue North, in Bayport.

A certified medical assistant at Stillwater prison was allegedly involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with an inmate with the goal of becoming pregnant—while a nursing intern stood guard. After several sexual encounters, court documents state Yvonne Noemi Lerro-Miller became pregnant with the inmate’s unborn baby. Lerro-Miller, 37, of Osceola, Wis. was charged May 10 inWashington County District Court with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. She has since been terminated from her position at the Minnesota Correctional Facility at Stillwater.

A homeowner in the 400 block of Laurie Lane woke up to an unexpected visitor early Monday morning. The woman awoke to find a "drunk, lost and confused" 24-year-old Stillwater man sitting on a chair taking off his shoes, according to police. When the woman told the man he was at the wrong house, he was reluctant to leave, the report states. When the man was "ordered to leave," he allegedly walked out of the woman's house and got into the front seat of her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The man was cited for trespassing and taken to Detox.

May 13

A woman on a paper route reported that she was bit “in the rear end” by a dog in the 2600 block of Skyview Court. The woman told police the bite drew blood, but she refused medical attention.

Police responded to a report of animal cruelty after someone reported that a woman tried to get her dog in her vehicle near Tower Drive and Washington Avenue, but the canine refused to get in, so she drove away with the dog giving chase to her vehicle. A couple of witnesses helped the woman eventually get the dog in the vehicle.

A 21-year-old Stillwater man was arrested on probable cause fourth-degree DWI, no motorcycle endorsement and no proof of insurance after he was stopped on Water Street. According to police, a preliminary breath test resulted in a .13 reading.

Police responded to a report of attempted arson at Sunrise Park after someone attempted to light playground equipment on fire.

May 16

A 25-year-old Stillwater man was cited for criminal damage to property after he allegedly wrote the acronym “UBC” in magic marker on PVC piping on Water Street.

A 43-year-old North St. Paul man was cited for possession of stolen license plates, driving after suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for possible stolen license plates near Highway 36 and Washington Avenue. The passengers in his vehicle, a 24-year-old Stillwater man and a 22-year-old Minneapolis woman, were each cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 17

Burglary and the theft of golf clubs worth $1,000 was reported after someone entered the attached garage of a home in the 2000 block of Oak Glen Drive.

May 18

Police responded to a theft report after about 54 articles of jewelry valued at $7,100 were stolen from American Gothic Antiques, 236 Main Street South. The case is under investigation.

A 19-year-old Stillwater man was cited for speeding after police stopped him for traveling 46 mph in a 30 mph zone on Main Street North.

The preceding items were taken from thePolice Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents are listed in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred. When names are used, it indicates that felony charges have been filed in Washington County District Court.
