Stillwater Police Investigate Burglary at Diamonds on Main

Three suspects who were wearing what appears to be hooded sweatshirts, masks and gloves reportedly smashed though the front door of Diamonds on Main and stole jewelry, according to police. The case remains under investigation.

Stillwater police are investigating an overnight burglary at May 1.

“Three suspects who were wearing what appears to be hooded sweatshirts, masks and gloves” were captured on surveillance footage at the jewelry store, Sgt. Jeff Stender said.

The suspects forced entry into the building through the front door at about 1 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, Stender said. Once inside, the burglars smashed jewelry cases and stole items.

Police are still working with Diamonds on Main to determine what was stolen, Stender said.

Detectives are looking into whether or not the burglary is related to other jewelry store burglaries in the Twin Cities area.

“It’s too early to tell if (the break-ins) are related,” Stender said.

The case remains under investigation.
