Police Investigate Second Report of Groping in Cub Foods Parking Lot

After seeing media reports last week, a 25-year-old Woodbury woman told Stillwater police that she, too, was groped by a man while she was in the parking lot of Cub Foods on April 3.

Stillwater police are investigating a second report that a woman was groped in the Stillwater Cub Foods parking lot last week.

Former Cub Foods employee Reuben Ramcharit, 19, of Somerset, Wis., was charged in Washington County District Court last week with one count of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Shortly after Stillwater police released information to the media about a 22-year-old Oak Park Heights woman who reported she was groped in the parking lot of Cub Foods on April 3, a 25-year-old Woodbury woman came forward and reported that she too was “grabbed in the buttocks” by a man while she was in the same parking lot on that same day, Stillwater Police Sgt. Jeff Stender said.

Details of the Woodbury woman’s story also corroborated what Ramcharit told police, Stender said.

Shortly after receiving the initial report of the sexual assault last week, Stillwater police—with the assistance of a Cub Foods loss-prevention officer—were able to identify Ramcharit on security video, Stender said.

During questioning, Ramcharit admitted to groping at least two other women at the same location on the same day, as well as groping women in other communities, according to police reports. He also faces charges in connection with a groping incident in Roseville last month.

The Oak Park Heights Police Department is also investigating a groping incident that happened last month at Walmart, the Pioneer Press reports.

"The suspect has not been identified as Ramcharit at this point,” Oak Park Heights Police Chief Brian DeRosier told the Pioneer Press, “but there was a matching M.O. and we are investigating all possibilities."
