Stillwater Police: Two Freight House Bouncers Assaulted, Suspects Still at Large

Police were called to the Freight House at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday on a report that two members of the nightclub's security staff had been assaulted by a group of patrons.

Stillwater police are investigating a report that two bouncers were assaulted last weekend at the Freight House.

Police were called to the downtown bar at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday on a report that two members of the nightclub’s security staff had been assaulted by a group of patrons.

A witness to the assault told police the two bouncers were attempting to remove a group of patrons from the bar—and once outside, they were attacked by a group of unidentified men.

One of the members of the security staff told police, that at one time during the attack, he recalls lying on his back at the bottom of the stairs being punched in the face multiple times by multiple people. He believes he was assaulted by about five men, and suffered a broken tooth from the assault, but was otherwise OK.

His coworker told police he may have been knocked unconscious during the attack. Police note in the report that he appeared to be disoriented, and had a cut on his nose.

A witness told police after the assault the group walked southbound on Water Street, when she lost sight of them.

The suspects are unknown at this time. Detectives are actively investigating the incident by reviewing security footage, and trying to identify those involved.
