Stillwater Police:Mysterious Visit by 'Police,' a Stalker Report

The following police blotter is compiled from Stillwater police reports and subsequent interviews with the Stillwater Police Department.

Monday, Sept.26:

• A woman reported that a man wearing a baseball hat with the words “Police” on it was knocking at her door at 1:30 a.m. She did not call the police at that time because her phone was not within reach.

Tuesday, Sept. 27:

• A man has been stalking a woman employee at the Valley Ridge mall. The man allegedly has been talking inappropriately to the employee.

Wednesday, Sept. 28:

• The homeless man that was arrested for trespassing at the Bikery parking lot on Fourth Street a few weeks ago, was seen at Lucky’s gas station on Main Street, reportedly taking three newspapers and a piece of chicken from the gas station.

Public Safety Messages:

• The Stillwater Police Department would like to remind residents they can ask solicitors for their permit at any time. If the solicitor refuses to show permit or does not have one, please call the Stillwater Police Department immediately. • In Minnesota Department of Corrections news, The DOC canine officers won the first place department team award at Canine Nationals.

• In Minnesota Department of Public Safety news, A report from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office Justice Programs entitled “Youth in Minnesota Correctional Facilities,” found that correctional facility students have an earlier onset of drug/alcohol use, are more likely to be a victim of sexual or domestic abuse, as well as having ongoing mental/emotional issues.

• The County Public Health Department and the Sheriff’s Office recently joined Code RED. Code RED is a web based system which will allow the county to reach citizens by phone and text messaging. To sign up for Code Red, click here.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is seeking citizen assistance in locating the following individuals. These persons have active outstanding warrants through the Sheriff's Office. Height: 63” Weight: 120

Hair Color: BLACK

Eye Color: BROWN

Race: A – ASIAN

Yang has a Washington County Felony warrant for Violation of a Harassment Restraining Order. Yang has been known to the Sheriff’s Department for felony harassment restraining order violations, motor vehicle tax evasion and driving with a suspend license. The preceding items were taken from theStillwater and Oak Park Heights police departments. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt.
