Two Stillwater Men Face Felony Charges in Relation to Recent Rash of Burglaries

Nicholas John DeRosier and James Jonathan Cody Hanson, both 18 of Stillwater, were each charged by the Washington County Attorney's Office with third-degree burglary as a result of an investigation into the recent rash of home break-ins.

DeRosier is facing 4 counts of burglary and Hanson was charged with one count of burglary.

Hanson had his initial appearance in Washington County District Court today where bail was set at $5,000. His next court appearance is set for Aug. 2 at 1 p.m.

A warrant has been issued for DeRosier's arrest, but he is currently not in custody.

The Stillwater Police Department is continuing its investigation into the string of burglaries of which the two remain prime suspects.

“We truly appreciate the efforts of the Stillwater Police Department in bringing the early stages of this investigation to fruition,” Orput said. “The public should be assuaged that the investigation is continuing and that we in law enforcement will do all in our power to stop this violation of our homes.”
