Bachmann on Unemployment Numbers: 'We are Not Creating Jobs Quickly Enough'

Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann released a statement on the latest unemployment numbers today saying" President Obama’s tax and spend policies continue to explode the debt and cloud the country with uncertainty."

Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann released the following comments regarding the latest unemployment numbers reported today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics:

“Millions of Americans have left the workforce in the last four years, yet the unemployment rate today is virtually identical to what it was when President Obama took office. We are simply not creating jobs quickly enough. 7.7 percent unemployment means that millions of people are entering the holiday season without a paycheck.

President Obama’s tax and spend policies continue to explode the debt and cloud the country with uncertainty. We are currently facing the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression, and it’s time for the President and Senate Democrats to adopt pro-growth legislation that the House has passed numerous times.

Failing to pass a budget for over three years and then demanding increased taxes on America’s job creators to fund their reckless big spending won’t help get the American people back to work.”

Fact is, Michelle's republican party has blocked much of Obama's job creation efforts. Protecting historically low tax rates for the top 2% will not create jobs. That's a theory tested over the last decade and proven false. Job creation was robust under Clinton-era rates. She repeats fact-free talking points and right wing mantras, while advocating extreme non-solutions, the likes of which (if enacted) would drive this country into a European-style, austerity-based depression. Inadequate application of proven Keynsian economic principles is what lies behind our too-slow recovery. More stimulus is necessary, not the proven failures of trickle-down tax favors for the rich. Michelle lives in a delusional fantasy land, and neither she nor her party have a plan for this country that would do anything but hurt the vast majority of working Americans, young people and retirees, consolidate wealth more so at the top, cater to the agendas of corporations with no loyalty to the American people, neglect the need to protect the environment and our food chain, while ignoring the very real long-term threat to our security--dependence on fossil fuels. Her paranoid delusions of Muslim conspiracies (and related slander of other officials), and her persistent support of measures to deny equal protection under the law for non-heterosexual citizens defines her warped and narrow mind-set. It will be a great day for Minnesota when she leaves public office!

I can not believe that Bachmann was re-elected! The people in her district must never watch the news or keep up on political goings on. She is the dimmest bulb in congress and a well known one at that. I think people vote for her because she's kind of cute. Same thing happened with W...Women where I worked all voted for him because they thought he was handsome....geeze...

Perfect....I couldn't agree more!

Bachmann is a marginalized non-entity in Congress these days. They got rid of her tea party pal DeMint, and now 3 other extremists have been kicked off committees by their own party leadership. Is Bachmann next to get the boot from her own party? Those who voted Bachmann back in wasted their votes. Their own party is sidelining her.

Bachmann might be on her way out but good for her for telling it the way it is. Government is too big, costs too much and everything possible to trim the costs in a responsible way would be battled between parties. We voted for them, they can't even accomplish a plan to work which lowers costs and deals with the middle class. It takes All of us to feed the economy and few classes to send it in a spiral.
