Election 2012: Stillwater Area School Board Chair Defeated

The incumbent Stillwater Area School Board Chairman, George Dierberger, was voted out last night.

The incumbent Stillwater Area School Board Chairman, George Dierberger, was voted out last night.

With 100 percent of the precincts in School District 834 reporting just after 3 a.m. Wednesday, incumbent Kathy Buchholz and Amy Burback received the most votes capturing 31 and 24 percent, respectively, while incumbents Mike Ptacek and Dierberger each received 21 percent of the vote.

Three of the four candidates were elected to the board on Tuesday night.

Buchholz received 17,977 votes, while Burback received 14,224 votes. Just 393 votes separated Ptacek (12,434) from Dierberger (12,041).

There were also 305 write-in votes.
