Sen. Ray Vandeveer has endorsed Karin Housley's candidacy for the State Senate seat in Minnesota Senate District 39.

Sen. Ray Vandeveer has endorsed Karin Housley’s candidacy for the State Senate seat in Minnesota Senate District 39.

"Karin's history of involvement in our community makes her a great fit to represent the hard working families of the St. Croix Valley and Forest Lake,” Vandeveer said. “Her small business experience, relationships with Chamber businesses, along with her extensive volunteerism and her family's deep roots in the community, will make Karin a driving force at the State Capitol for issues that matter to us all.”

Housley said she couldn't be more proud to accept Vandeveer's endorsement.

“Ray has been a terrific example of public service over the years and is always attentive to the needs of our district,” Housley said. “I especially admire his efforts to fight against excessive government intervention in business, which hinders the job growth our state so desperately needs. I look forward to carrying on his work, focusing on jobs in Minnesota and getting our neighbors back to work."

Vandeveer, of Forest Lake, has represented much of the new Senate District 39 area in the Minnesota legislature since 1998, first in the House and then the Senate (2006-present).
