Karin Housley Says Gov. Dayton Should Call Special Session To Fix MNSure

'As deadlines near for MNsure, the urgency could not be greater,' said the state senator representing Stillwater.

State Sen. Karin Housley (R-39), who represents Stillwater, called on Gov. Mark Dayton to "immediately order a Special Session of the Minnesota Legislature." The reason, as stated in a news release: to address "growing public concerns" with MNsure.

The news release included these words from Housley:

"Minnesotans are heading into the holiday week feeling unsure about MNsure. An unelected MNsure Board, an ill-timed vacation, excessive wait times and a faulty website have prevented Minnesota families from ensuring that they and their loved ones have health care coverage.

"I call on Governor Dayton to order an immediate Special Session of the Minnesota Legislature dedicated to solving the issues of MNsure. While I did not support the creating of MNsure, it is the law in Minnesota. I will not sit idly by while Minnesotan's suffer, because a bloated, unelected bureaucracy has failed.

"As deadlines near for MNsure, the urgency could not be greater. The problems with MNsure have gotten worse, not better and now is the time for Governor Dayton and the entire Minnesota Legislature to demand answers and provide solutions."
