Stillwater Roundabout Plans Yield for St. Croix Crossing Project

Studies about the circular traffic arrangement will wait, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Stillwater won't get a new traffic roundabout anytime soon, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Washington County has postponed study of possible street redesign at Owens Street N. and Myrtle Street W. until 2017 at the earliest, by which time new traffic patterns using the new St. Croix Crossing bridge will have had a year to get established, the newspaper reported.

They're said to be safer, although a roundabout in Woodbury was the site of a one-car crash Sunday that led to a helicopter search for a woman who ran from the car at the crash site.

While you're waiting for crossing project and the roundabout plans, listen to Steve Howe's isolated guitar tracks from the 1971 hit single "Roundabout" by the band Yes in the player embedded above (or at YouTube.com).
