Thumbs up for Locals' 'Stillwater Log Jam' on Social Media
There was anticipation online for the Stillwater City Council's selection of a group to put on a new summer festival—and then excitement and congratulations as word of the council's decision spread.
Social media came alive Thursday with news that the Stillwater City Council had selected The Locals as the group to mount a new summer festival to take the place of Lumberjack Days.

The "Keep Lumberjack Days Local" page on Facebook had nearly 1,200 Likes as of Friday, a week after it was created. There were no new posts since the council action Friday morning, but one supporter posted "WE WON!! Congrats!"
At the Stillwater Patch Facebook page, one commenter was similarly thrilled: "Go Locals!!!!" Another supporter was impressed with the winning bid: "Glad the LOCALS will be planning our fun summer festival. Great presentation to the City Council and they are very organized!"
On Twitter, Greg Seitz of the St. Croix 360 website greeted the news succinctly: "Great decision."
Cassie McLemore, part of the selected group, tweeted, "So proud tonight! Our group #thelocals was chosen to take on the 2014 festival to replace Lumberjack Days! #stillwater"
