Two New Stillwater City Council Members Sworn In

Ted Kozlowski was sworn in as the Ward 2 representative on Tuesday night. Tom Weidner was sworn in as representative of Ward 3.

Two new members of the Stillwater City Council were sworn in Tuesday night at City Hall.

Ted Kozlowski represents Ward 2. Tom Weidner is now the Ward 3 representative.

After the new members took the oath of office, the council recognized the work of outgoing council members Micky Cook and Jim Roush.

Cook chose not to seek re-election in Ward 2. Roush lost his re-election bid to Weidner.

Both Cook and Roush served on the Council for four years.

Councilmembers Appointed to Committees

Ward 4 Council Member Mike Polehna will serve as vice mayor in 2013.

The council decided to disband the Lumberjack Days Advisory Committee and the Lumberjack Days Music Committee. Council members Cook and Doug Menikheim formerly served on the advisory committee. Roush served on the music committee.

An events commission may be formed later this year, Stillwater Mayor Ken Harycki said.

Council members were appointed to the following commissions and committees om 2013:

Doug Menikheim: Heritage and Preservation Commission, Water Board, Fire Relief Association Board and alternative member of CVB

Ted Kozlowski: Downtown Parking Commission, Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Fire Relief Association Board and alternative on Middle St. Croix Watershed Management Board

Tom Weidner: Joint Cable Commission, Joint Board and Planning Commission

Mike Polehna: Parks Commission, Middle St. Croix Watershed Management Board and Human Rights Commission.

Ken Harycki: Joint Board
