Stillwater High School to Host Special Olympics Minnesota Summer Games

Stillwater Area High School will host the Special Olympics Minnesota 2012 Summer Games June 21-23. The Summer Games include gymnastics, track and field tennis and volleyball.

One of six state Special Olympics Minnesota competitions held annually, Summer Games include gymnastics, track and field tennis and volleyball.

Through the course of the weekend’s activities, the Stillwater community will welcome more than 1,300 athletes, 1,400 volunteers and 500 coaches.

“We are excited by the quality of venues at Stillwater Area High School, as well as the ability to bring more of an all-inclusive and community atmosphere to the event,” Pam Bergerson, Special Olympics Minnesota Vice President of Sports and Education said in a news release. “We look forward to building a long-term partnership with the school, community education and the residents and businesses in Stillwater.”
