Spoken at Stillwater Schools: English, Spanish, Hmong ... and Arabic

Children of Coptic Christian families from Egypt are the Stillwater School District's newest immigrant group, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Two staff members at Adventure Club, the before- and after-school program at Lily Lake Elementary School, are helping the Stillwater Area Public Schools welcome children from about 250 Coptic Christian families who have immigrated to Minnesota from Egypt in recent years.

Sabah Sefen and Nermeen Youssef both grew up in Egypt, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press: Youssaf was a kindergarten teacher there for five years, while Sefen studied chemistry.
