This list was developed from more than 200 budget-cutting ideas submitted by staff and community members.

The budget-adjustment recommendation is broken into three tiers of $4 million each—with Tier 1 being the easiest to implement and least impact on students and Tier 3 being more difficult to implement and/or larger impact on students, according to a news release from the Stillwater Area School District. Ultimately, the school board will use this recommendation as a guide as they select items from each tier to total $10 million in budget reductions.

A final tier—Tier 4—lists future items that could be considered in the event additional reductions are necessary in 2013-2014 and beyond.

Over the next two months, staff and community members will be asked to weigh in with their feedback on this list.

Comments gathered during that time will be shared with district leaders and the Budget Adjustment Advisory Committee, and the recommendation may be revised before going to the school board for final approval on March 8.
