Homecoming 2013: Stillwater Ponies vs. Roseville Raiders

It's finally Homecoming Game Day in Stillwater on Friday. Here is information about a new pre-game party, the football matchup, and how to watch the game online, with live video streaming play-by-play starting at 6:45 p.m. from The Ponies Touchdown Club with Central Media Services and KLBB. 

New: Pre-game Celebration

The party starts early this year, according to information from The Ponies Touchdown Club posted at the Ponies Football Facebook page: 

The Ponies Touchdown Club is kicking off a new homecoming week tradition!

Join us from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. for a FREE pre-game celebration in the SAHS parking lot adjacent to Pony Stadium.

Lee Valsvik (class of 78) hosts the family-friendly evening that includes games, face painting, bean bag toss, a football competition, live music performed by professional band Five Man Advantage and high school band Crimson Horizon; and the opportunity to meet cowboy Jeff Rector and his horse, Roanie. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Game Preview: 

The Stillwater Gazette notes the Ponies are out to break a "rare losing streak":

"Stillwater defeated the Raiders 28-19 a year ago and leads the all-time series 17-5 dating back to 1987, This marks the first time the Raiders have won more than three games in a season since 2007."

Here's the word on Roseville's Raiders, via Roseville Patch local editor Scott Carlson.

Sporting a 4-1 record, the Roseville Area High School football team  are coming off another big victory, last week defeating Park of Cottage Grove 45-19. Named Offensive Player of the Week was Matt Peckham and Defensive Player of the Week, Andrew Colvard, according to the Roseville Raiders Endzone booster club.

To date, the Raiders also have defeated Cretin-Derham Hall, Hastings and Woodbury; their only loss came in week two at the hands of East Ridge.

The Ponies Touchdown Club will stream the game (and all varsity games) live on PoniesFootball.com for free.

The live streaming can be viewed by anyone with an internet connection on laptops, smartphones, and smart tvs. The games are also archived on the PTC’s YouTube channel for later viewing.

Central Media Services is providing the live streaming equipment and service. KLBB is providing the play-by-play call. The stream starts 15 minutes before kickoff.
