Community Corner

Volunteer Information Session

Do you enjoy meeting new people in your community and helping others?  Attend a Volunteer Information Session and learn about the Neighborhood Service Exchange (NSE), a local time bank program, and the Transportation Program.  A session will be held on Jan. 12, 2012 at 10:00am at the Community Thread office, located at 2300 West Orleans St. in Stillwater.

The NSE began in 1998 and is the first time bank program in Washington County. Members share their talents with one another such as cooking, helping with errands, doing minor home repairs, shopping and other services.

The Transportation Program started in 1967 and continues to serve Washington County residents in need with rides to medical appointments.  Additional volunteer drivers are needed.

For more information, please contact Cathy Dyball at 651-439-7434 or visit the agency’s web site at http://www.communitythreadmn.org.
