Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is of course an opportunity to honor its namesake, but it also offers a great chance to give back.
Since federal legislation was signed into law in 1994, MLK Day has been recognized as a day of service. The website mlkday.gov has more details on the history of the day of service, as well as ideas on getting involved.
